Hi Hayley,
It's really strange that you have a dry scalp after doing highlights. Normally the colour or bleach should be applied only on the hair without touching the scalp. Moreover, if the product would have sensitized your scalp, you would have red patches or irritations.
Dry scalp can also be hormonal or comes from stress and fatigue or eczema or even unsuitable shampoo.
To know the cause, it would be better to do a diagnosis by a hairdresser. This will help you to know how to treat your scalp.
However, you can use a home remedie to rehydrate your scalp: apply some drops of olive or coconut oil on your scalp. You leave it on for several hours or a whole night and shampoo it gently.
Depending on the type of scalp you have, there are products that can resolve dryness. It would be useful to know if you have dandruff or redness or itchy scalp, then I can recommend the most suitable product for you.
Finally, I think your shampoo is not suitablefor for your scalp, especially if it does not solve your dryness issue. Most of the time a good shampoo can remedy this problem.
Let me know what type of scalp you have and I will advise you on a suitable treatment and shampoo ;-)
