Cars resemble their owners

We say that dogs resemble their owners. Research indicates that when people pick a dog
they look for one that, at some level, bears some resemblance to them. So what about cars?
And vintage cars?

They are ageless, classy, their great design make every head turn. People who drive them
are into time traveling, they are looking for their own unique find, like an art treasury.

Here is a small collection of photographs of the colorful, fancy, quirky, beautiful old
vintage cars I stumbled upon while walking in the streets of London:

My neighborhood

This is the story of the area I live in, Hampstead Garden Suburb in north London.
My neighborhood was planned at year 1907 by a woman called Henrietta Barnett,
an English social reformer. She wanted to setup a model community with people
of all classes living together in beautiful houses set in very green area.
The houses and flats represent the best of English domestic architecture of the
early twentieth century. Today, the area looks just the same as it would look 100 years ago.
If you ignore the cars, of course. The streets are quiet,
filled with trees and at night you can hear the owls cry.

Sometimes I feel like live in a small village, in the nature. Not in the big smoke.
As I take lots of walk with the pram (I have a 9 months old baby at home) I can’t seem
to stop taking photographs. Many houses in the suburbs have special character, some have wild colorful gardens, climbing plants on the walls, it is well known that the English people love gardening.

1) My Polaroids / Long before the iPhonography mania took place, before the Hipstamatic and Instagram, I was shooting with my SX-70 Polaroid camera.

2) Chopped / The first flower I have ever planted in my life. It’s called Cosmos. One day after the flower opened up, I found it picked and laying on the grass. A squirrel is probably responsible for that. Now it’s living in a glass next to the kitchen window.

3) Home is where your art is / On the top is a nude drawn by me, probably from college time. On the left is a print by Paddy Hamilton and on the right a postcard by Israeli artist Meira Shemesh.

4) The DJ’s corner / My husband, Jerome used to dee-jay some years ago. He has have a big record collection as well as record players. Nowadays, when he plays his music he’s deejay’s for himself only. With his headphones on, no one can hear his DJ set but him.
